Recent performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination BECE, has not been encouraging. This attracted concerns from stakeholders in education and faith based organizations. The situation prompted the Ladies of Excellence Association of the National Association of Graduate Teachers, NAGRAT, to offer free tuition to students in the area. About fifty students from Kpenoe and its environs in the Ho Municipality benefited from the initiative. It is the believe of the teachers that the students will be equipped to enable them perform better in this year's BECE. The Volta Regional Coordinator of the association, Janet Bubune Opoku commended both parents and students for the enthusiasm towards the initiative. She was hopeful that the initiative will help the students to improve academically.
