SALAGA: IMPROVING EDUCATION DELIVERY

To ease the transportation difficulties facing especially pupils, the assembly has acquired bicycles to be distributed to school girls in the district to facilitate their movement. Mr. Mohammed Aminu Lukeman is the East Gonja District Chief Executive. He says the assembly is implementing a zero tolerance programme for teacher absentee. This means teachers who do not perform well be flushed out.
The Deputy Director of Education in charge of supervision in the East Gonja District, Mr. Baba Issifu said government is partly to blame for the poor performance of pupils in the district. This is because logistics for teachers are not forthcoming and this is affecting teaching and learning. Still in the East Gonja district the road safety task force in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Private Road Transport Union has embarked on an outreach programme to enforce road rules. The aim is to reduce accidents on the roads.
