ASSIN SIENCHEM: PREZ. MAHAMA INSPECTS COCOA FARM

A typical cocoa farm which has expanded as a result of incentives given by government on a broad scale, has been inspected by President John Mahama at Assin Sienchem in the Central Region. The farm belongs to a 35 year old man who dropped out of school because he could not afford to pay for his education. President Mahama and the young cocoa farmer first met last year, during a visit to the Presidency by members of the cocoa and sheanut farmers association.
In his effort to encourage young people to go into cocoa farming, the President of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on the second anniversary of his administration spent the afternoon on a cocoa farm. His first visit was to the farm of Mr. Samuel Torbi (2013 National Best Young Cocoa Farmer) in Assin Sienchem in the Central Region.
The President engaged workers on the farm, and was taken through the various activities at the cocoa farm.
