It was a head-on collision of this fully loaded articulator truck, numbered GR 6190 H from Accra en route to Kumasi and another numbered GN 1508 13 from the opposite direction. On this gory accident at Suhum Omenaku, five people were already rescued unconscious. But rescuers from the village claim the rescued are feared dead, with a sixth trapped in one of the badly mangled articulator heads. Hard as they could, a team of men from the fire service arrived with a machine used in rescuing trapped accident victims. Unfortunately, it was without fuel, and useless, leaving the villagers to use unorthodox means of breaking the wreckage open.
Finally, they managed to release the body of the man in his late 20s. Villagers claim there is a virtual rump created at the end of the uncompleted road, which takes motorists unawares, leading to several accidents at the spot. The wreckage is still in the middle of the road and motorists plying the Accra-Kumasi road must be cautious especially along the Suhum area.
