University Of Ghana Inaugurates Shuttle Service

The University of Ghana has inaugurated a shuttle service, under a Public Private Partnership with Road Safety and Transport Consultancy (RSTC) Limited. The inauguration of the 10 new buses will enable staff and students have better and easy access to facilities on campus as the buses would ply various major routes on campus.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ernest Aryeetey and Registrar Mrs. Mercy Haizel-Ashia jointly cut a tape to symbolically inaugurate the shuttle service. Prof. Aryeetey pledged that the University would ensure the buses are well maintained. He added that more bus shelters around the Campus would be constructed to enable commuters board and alight at designated places to their various destinations. He also admonished the commuters to avoid insisting on alighting and boarding at unauthorized places.
The Chief Executive Officer of RSTC, Mr. Godfred Akyea-Darkwah on behalf of his company, expressed his delight at being part of such an important partnership with the University.
The short ceremony which was held after this year’s Matriculation ceremony was attended by the Pro- Vice-Chancellors, Prof. John Gyapong and Prof. Kwame Offei, Provosts, Deans, Directors, Heads of Halls, members of Convocation and students. A short bus ride was organized after the ceremony.
