30 minutes silence in Heaven

Revelation 8:1 opens with this spectacle: "When the Lamb broke the seventh seal on the scroll, there was silence throughout heaven for about half an hour." What! Thirty-minutes of Silence in Heaven! Why? What for? What does it mean? Indeed, when I read the wave of tragic events that followed, I then had a full grasp of why such suddden, startling and deafening silence in Heaven. I must say that it was the calm before the storm of judgment to come; a sense of anticipation and awe for God’s awesome judgments to follow. So this hushed-30 minutes silence symbolized the awe and dread with which the Heavenly hosts awaited the events about to occur. My dear friends, brothers and sisters, we are living in interesting times. Times of Bible prophecy. If the Heavenly hosts themselves could be this awe-struck by the vials of judgments which was going to take place; some already taking place right under our nose, and even greater and more devastating ones yet to come, then it means we have to be vigilant and faithful in our walk with God. The Tribulation will be something else. Hmmm!
