Why the High Priest tore the priestly garment before JESUS

We read in Scripture how that the High Priest tored his priestly garment before the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus had been arrested from the Garden of Gethsemane and brought before the Jewish authorities at midnight. Silently listening to his accusers and false witnesses, Jesus was charged by the High Priest, under oath, to make known to them whether he is the Son of God. Jesus' response shocked them, "I Am," he said. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Father and coming down of the clouds of heaven..." At this, the High Priest exclaimed, "Blasphemy!," "We all have heard what he said. There's no need for further witnesses." Then he tored the priestly garment. And that was very significant for you and I. He tored the priestly garment because the Aaronic and earthly priesthood had come or came to an end. The reign, even the eternal reign of the Higher Priesthood by Jesus the Christ, according to the Order of Melchizedek, had began. So Caiaphas had torn apart the garment to legally usher in the New Priesthood. It was a symbolic exchange, for he was standing before the Eternal High Priest, Jesus. Glory be to the Father! Amen. Hallelujah.
