"It is written: 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God." - MATTHEW 4:4.
Take a notice of the first three words,
"It is written". What do you perceive? That "It is written," points to the accompanying statement as being a Law, a protocol, an irrevocable judicial decision, a divine statute. It affirms a human being, not an animal, not a monkey or a dog, but that the entity called man,
Shall Not, notice here the emphasis laid on "shall not," which tells commandingly yet in truth that it will be impossible, an error, or a sin, for any man to live and move and have his being only on just physical food and be devoid of God's Word, which on the contrary is fully alive and gives life to anyone desiring or willing to receive it into their spirit - translating to longevity of the body, wisdom of the mind and exemplary character of the soul.
Then the second part of the lawful statement:
"but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God." Graciously, we see here that beside feeding on physical food which perishes, what actually sustains and keeps a man going, to be alive at full capacity, from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet, is God's Word, whether it is the written Word (
Scripture) or the Spoken (
Rhema Word). Now keep a keen eye on the word
"EVERY". What is your understanding of that word? Simply, the mention of "Every Word" sheds light on the powerful truth that when we come across in Scripture the promises of God for us, or words telling about his character, his goodness, his commandments, or his redemptive sacrifice, etc.,
we can depend on that divine word, that supernatural meal to be healed, nourished, strengthened and saved. And hear me, when a word comes out of God's mouth to you, when he even says to you, "
Hi" or "
Begin to See" or "
Come Up Here," just that word from him, is life in itself to live by. You will never be the same. He is the Eternal Father, the Supreme Creator.
And truly, something supernatural always happens to the creation (Man) whenever the Creator speaks. Hallelujah!!!
