We are exhorted to live a life of generosity. The Bible has this to say about the Lord Jesus "He is generous inside out. And of His bounty we have received gift after gift after gift." John 1:16
Generosity gives off a good feeling! We see our Lord Jesus going about His ministry doing good to people. The felt good helping others and thus He lived selflessly that even when He was afar off and not present among the people, His name inspired hope.
The invalids, the outcasts, the marginalized, or the poor, all identified with Him - life and hope, grace and peace abounded toward them! And when they met Him face to face with their problems, there was instant turnaround.
Does your name inspire hope of a turnaround in the life of someone? Does your presence give off a good feeling to others, who know that your words, your conduct and actions and your help brings relief to them? Are we generous with our resources and blessings or do we hold back from extending our hands to help and touch lives?
We should emulate the Lord Jesus, who is our Chief example. Your joy and the good feeling in being generous to others, outweighs the joy of the one at the receiving end. Always remember this!
