A POEM
THEY CAME IN THE BOAT
We had lived in our land peacefully
Until the invader came
To disinherit us of the land
Our ancestors preserved.
We fought and won back our sovereignty
But the effect could not be undone:
The traditions we adored were changed
Lord forgive them.
A day is coming and has now come
When the proud Sons of Africa
In unity
Will rise to their former glory
So mote it be.
THEY CAME IN THE BOAT

But the effect could not be undone:
